Privacy

SafeKeeper is a local application. Your photos never leave the machines and drives you point it at.

SafeKeeper has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. It does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

What SafeKeeper accesses

  • Your photo library. SafeKeeper reads your photos and their metadata in order to copy them to the destination you choose. This happens entirely on your Mac.
  • The destinations you select. SafeKeeper writes backups only to folders and drives you explicitly pick, and retains access to them so scheduled backups can run.

What SafeKeeper stores

SafeKeeper keeps a local database describing your backups — which photos were copied, when, and the results of verification. This database lives on your Mac in the app's own container and is never uploaded anywhere.

What SafeKeeper does not do

  • It does not send your photos, file names, or metadata to any server.
  • It does not include analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
  • It does not require an account, and asks for no personal information.
  • It does not share data with third parties, because it holds no data off your device.
